June 19 Update: Wake generates another comeback win while striking out 13 LSU batters. Down 2-0 midway through the game, the Demon Deacons grinded past LSU and then used clutch pitching to shutdown any LSU comeback efforts. By edging the Tigers, Wake is now one win away from the CWS Finals.

The Demon Deacons Path to the 2023 College World Series
Winston-Salem Regional - Wake Forest swept through the first round of the NCAA Baseball Tournament. While defeating George Mason Twice and Maryland, Wake Forest outslugged their opponents by a 48-7 margin.
Winston Salem Super Regional - The Demon Deacons played a tight game with Alabama in game 1, but prevailed 5-4. Wake dominated Alabama in the second game to sweep the series and advance to Omaha
Although the success of Wake Forest CWS Championships dates back to the middle of the 20th century, the Demon Deacons program is built on a solid foundation of success and support as it emerges into one of college baseball's elite programs.
Wake Forest Comes Up Diamonds in Omaha
Wake Forest Baseball has a rich history spanning over a century since its inception in 1891. The Demon Deacons have made two College World Series appearances in 1949 and 1955 and won their only national championship in 1955.
The national title was wrapped up when the Demon Deacons defeated Western Michigan in the College World Series. That year, the team was led by star player Walt Cantrell, who batted .389 with 11 runs batted in, while pitcher Gordon Oxley had a significant impact on the mound. The team's victory in 1955 marked a significant moment in the history of Wake Forest Athletics.
Seeking a Second College World Series Title
With the 2023 season in the homestretch drive, Wake Forest Baseball is now looking to ascend once again as they aim to win the 2023 College World Series. Under the guidance of Head Coach Tom Walter, the team has established itself as a national baseball power. The squad claimed the ACC Regular Season Conference Championship with an overall 45-9 record and 22-7 in the ACC.

In the present day, the Demon Deacons play their home games at David F. Couch Ballpark. Under the guidance of Head Coach Tom Walter, the team has been performing exceptionally well.
